CULTURAL TRIANGEL TOUR OF TURKEY


 
Day 1: Istanbul Arrival
 
Arrive in Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Meet and greet at the Airport and transfer to your Hotel in Istanbul. Depending on your arrival time
 
an optional tour can be arranged or you may wish to take a trip to experience a traditional turkish bath/hamam in Sultanahmet. (-)
 
Day 2: Istanbul Old City Tour

After breakfast meet your guide at the lobby for a full day tour of visiting St Sophia Museum, the pride of the Byzantine architecture, Byzantine Hippodrome, where once chariot races were held; The Blue Mosque, famous for its blue Iznik tiles; and enjoy shopping in the world’s largest covered bazaar with 4000 shops, is known as Grand Bazaar. Lunch will be served at Traditional Turkish Restaurant. After lunch visit Topkapi Palace, the famous residence of the Sultans (The Harem section is not included in the tour) and see the Treasury, royal gardens,
 
Sultan’s kitchen and Sacred Relics. (B&L)
 
Day 3: Bosphorus Cruse & Spice Market

After breakfast at hotel, meet your guide at the lobby for a half day tour. Stroll through to the Spice Market also called Egyptian Bazaar, where locals still shop for herbs and spices coming from all over the world. Then, take a regular/private motorboat to cruise along the Bosphorus, crossing under the two picturesque bridges that connect the European and Asian sides of the city, admiring many of the old Ottoman wooden houses called Yali in Turkish. The rest of the day is free to explore more of Istanbul on your own, you may visit Taksim Square is
 
the heart of the new city. Walk through the famous pedestrian way of Istiklal Street for a shopping spere. Overnight in Istanbul (B)
 
Day 4: Istanbul – Cappadocia (By Flight) – Highlights of Cappadocia

 
After an early breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and transfer to the Airport for your flight to Cappadocia. A direct flight from Istanbul to Kayseri/Nevsehir takes about 1 hour 10 min. Upon arrival, you will be met at the Airport and start to explore the beauty of Cappadocia. You will visit, Devrent and Pasabagi valleys, Avanos Pottery Town, Goreme Open Air Museum and panoramic view of Uchisar castle. At the end of the tour you will be taken to your Cave Hotel in Cappadocia for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride & Kaymakli Underground City of Cappadocia

An early start for an optional Hot Air Balloon Flight (one hour), this is truly a once in a lifetime experience and there is no better way to see the distinctive landscapes of Cappadocia than by gently floating overhead in a hot air balloon. Your skillful pilot will skim the basket across fruit trees and rise up over the fairy chimneys, before ascending to great heights for breathtaking views. Upon landing, you will celebrate your flight with a champagne toast! Return to your hotel for breakfast.
 
After breakfast at Hotel, meet your Guide and drive to Red (Rose) Valleys which is one of the most beautiful trekking valley in Cappadocia. Explore the famous rock-cut churches and hike through the valley.

The next, visit Cavusin Village, one of the oldest settlements in the area. Christian missionaries and communities once lived in the old Cavusin Valley, now in ruins due to rockslides and erosion. Lunch in a local Restaurant. After lunch, visit Ortahisar Castle which similar to Uchisar Castle style, then visit one of the most impressive underground cities called Kaymakli Underground City which has 8 levels. Underground cities were used by the Christians fleeing persecution in the 7th century, who created a self-sufficient environment underground including bedrooms, kitchens and storage rooms. On the way back taste some Cappadocia wines in a local wine factory or
 
visit a local turkish handicraft centre where you will be able to see the women weave their kilims and carpets and talk about the dying process and about the motifs they use. Dinner & overnight in Cappadocia. (B+L+D)
 
 
Day 6: Cappadocia Izmir (By Flight) Highlights of Ephesus & Kusadasi

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight to Izmir with a stopover in Istanbul. Upon arrival meet your Guide and drive to the ancient city of Ephesus the best preserved Greco-Roman City in the world. After lunch, visit the House of Virgin Mary, a pilgrimage site for many people of all denominations.The belief that  the  Virgin Mary had spent her last days in the vicinity of Ephesus and that where she had lived to the end of her life.
 
At the end of your tour you will be transferred to your Hotel in Kusadasi for Dinner and

Day 7: Pamukkale & Hierapolis (World Heritage Site)

Check out from your Kusadasi Hotel and drive to Pamukkale (Cotton Castle). After taking 2,30 hours drive you will reach to Hierapolis, whose name means "sacred city,", the ancient Greco-Roman city on top of hot springs. It was famed for its sacred hot springs, whose vapors were associated with Pluto, god of the underworld. The city also had a significant Jewish community and was mentioned by Paul in his Letter to Colossians. You will be amazed by travertines, and the terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing spring water. Enjoy walking with bearfood on a cotton castle. The
 
great (12,000-seat) Roman amphitheater of Hierapolis lies just above the travertines and swim with roman ruins in a large natural swimming pool located just past the topmost travertines which should not be missed. Dinner and Overnight in Pamukkale. (B+L+D)
 
Day 8: Denizli/Izmir – Istanbul (By Flight) – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out from your Hotel and transfer to the Airport. Take a direct flight from Denizli or Izmir to Istanbul. Arrive in Istanbul Airport and connect to your return flight. End of our services. (B)
