TURKEY’s HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1: ISTANBUL – ADANA
 
Arrive in Istanbul and connect to your domestic flight to Adana. Overnight & Dinner in Adana. (D)
 
Day 2: TARSUS – CAPPADOCIA
 
After breakfast, drive to Tarsus the birthplace of St. Paul. Visit the Church of St. Paul, which is a church that was built by the Crusaders in the middle ages, and has long been a site of pilgrimage for Christian travelers. Then visit Paul’s Well. Continue to Cappadocia. Dinner & Overnight. (B&D)

Day 3: CAPPADOCIA HIGHLIGHTS
 
An early start (before sunrise) for an optional Hot Air Balloon Flight (one hour), this is truly a once in a lifetime experience and there is no better way to see the distinctive landscapes of Cappadocia than by gently floating overhead in a hot air balloon and that is the best way to picturize the region. Upon landing, you will celebrate your flight with a champagne toast! Return to your hotel for breakfast.
 
After breakfast,visit the ancient settlement of Zelve, Devrent and Pasabagi Valleys, an important settlement and religious area during the 9th and 13th centuries. panoramic view of Uchisar Castle then stop at Pigeon Valley for viewing the area and taking some pictures. Next visit the Goreme Open-Air Museum, which used to house a religious community. we will then stop in Avanos, Pottery Town for a demonstration and then try your own hand at the potter’s wheel. Overnight & Dinner in Cappadocia. (B/L/D)
 
Day 4: CAPPADOCIA – UNDERGROUND CITY
 
After breakfast drive to Red (Rose) Valleys one of the most beautiful trekking valley, next visit Cavusin Village, one of the oldest settlements in the area. After lunch, visit Kaymakli Underground City, used by Christians as hiding place. After visit, the day will not be complete without a visit to a local Turkish Rug cooperative then, taste some Cappadocian wines at a local wine factory. Dinner and Overnight in Cappadocia. (B&D)

 
Day 5: CAPPADOCIA – KONYA (ICONIUM)
 
Early departure to Konya (Iconium) and where Paul and Barnabas were threatened by being stoned (Acts 15:5). Visit to St. Paul Church and Mevlana Museum (the founder of Whirling Dervishes). Dinner and Overnight in Konya. (B&D)

 
 
Day 6: KONYA – MERSIN
 
After breakfast depart for Mersin, on the way visit the Temple of German Empire F. Barbarossa, and Aya Tekla Cave Church dedicated to Saint Thecla, 1st c., one of Paul's first followers in the area. Dinner & Overnight in Mersin. (B&D)

 
Day 7: MERSIN
 
After breakfast visit, Kizkalesi ( Korykos Castle) a two-castle town and the impressive Caverns of Heaven and Hell (Cennet ve Cehennem in Turkish). Then visit, the extensive ruins of the Roman-Byzantine city now called Kanlidivane are scattered across a lofty hillside reached by a side road east of Kizkalesi. Visit the ancient Kanytelis, with tombs resembling small temples, churches and sarcophagi dating from Roman and Byzantine time. Dinner & Overnight in Mersin. (B&D)
 
Day 8: DEPARTURE
 
After breakfast check out from your Hotel, and drive to Adana International Airport for your home bound flight. (B) End of our services.
