Ancient Cities of Side & Perge - Antique Theater o

Meet with your guide infront of the passenger terminal and depart from the pier for the ancient city of. Your first visit  will be the ancient city of Side (meaning pomegranate), enter through the main gate of the city walls, and follow a colonnaded street to the marketplace and the theatre. You will also see the remains of a basilica, a market hall with shops and a Nymphaeum on the hilltop. The temple of Dionysus from the early Roman period is located near the theater, and two other temples side by side are dedicated to Apollo and Artemis.
Next visit will be the Aspendos, whose amphitheater is considered the best preserved in the Mediterranean and was built in the 2nd century AD. Water was brought to the city through a marvelous aqueduct system which is also extremely well preserved.
Lunch will be served at a well-known local restaurant serving traditional Turkish specialties.
Next, continue to Perge, which dates back to 1000 BC and was founded by Mopsus and Calchas after their retreat from Troy. See the Basilica of Perge, which played an important role in the spread of Christianity, the 2nd-century AD stadium, the baths complex and two round towers of the Greek Gate. Tour the marketplace before returning to the pier.
