After a short drive from the new port, you will arrive to the Castle of Bodrum. To obtain stone to build the Castle, the Knights of Rhodes tore down the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, a magnificent tomb that was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. A highlight of the tour will be a visit to sunken Boat Museum, with artifacts found underwater dating from the Bronze Age through the middle Ages, including cargo from a Syrian trade ship (13. century BC.). You will also visit the Carian Princess section to see her beautiful Tiara of gold during your visit in the Underwater Archaeology Museum.
Next, sail the magnificent coves of the Bodrum Peninsula in a gullet the typical wooden boat of the region that has plied these waters for centuries. You will have the opportunity to swim in some of the wonderful local bays and enjoy a lunch of traditional specialties.
